Montessori Toys for 3–6 Months

How we write: we have not run hands-on product tests. These guides explain what to look for at each stage and why, so you can judge any toy yourself. We never publish invented prices, ratings, or reviews; check the retailer for current details.

Babies now reach, bat, grasp and bring things to their mouths. Choose a few toys with different textures and weights, and rotate them rather than offering many at once.

What to look for

  • Grasping toys with easy-to-hold shapes (rings, simple wooden or silicone pieces).
  • Toys that are safe to mouth and easy to clean.
  • A low, unbreakable mirror for floor time.

Safety first: always follow the age grading on the package and supervise play. For children under 3, avoid small parts (see our safety checklist).
